Tekes in China
Finland and China have been developing close science and technology cooperation since 1986.
Tekes promotes science and technology cooperation between Chinese and Finnish universities, research institutes, companies and officials especially in the greater Beijing area, Shanghai and Yangtze delta, and the Pearl river delta.
The R&D collaboration focus areas are:
- Information and telecommunication technologies
- Biotechnology and healthcare systems
- Environmental and energy technologies
- Production and materials technologies, including nanotechnology
Tekes is also actively promoting EU-China cooperation. Tekes is the host organisation of the EU Research and Innovation Programmes and has good contacts in most European science and technology related activities and networks.
