Ongoing Tekes programmes

Tekes programmes are a gateway to the best researcher groups and innovative R&D companies in Finland. A list of projects participating in a programme is published on each programme's website.

BioRefine – New Biomass Products 2007–2012
The BioRefine programme will generate new and unique expertise in the processing of biomass and apply it to the creation of processes, products and services related to biorefineries.

Boat 2007–2011
Boat programme provides incentives for companies to develop their business and apply the best available expertise. The result of the programme is better boats and services for the consumer.

Built Environment 2009–2014
The programme focuses specially on renovation and refurbishment, construction for well-being concepts and infrastructure construction.

Concepts of Operations 2007–2011
The Concepts of Operations programme enhances and the business manufacturing operations. The programme networks parties in different industrial sectors and recognises manufacturing operations issues as a key part of strategic planning.

Digital Product Process 2008–2012
The Digital Product Process programme boosts the competitiveness of companies with better use of information technology in product processes.

Eve – Electric Vehicle Systems 2011–2015The aim of the Electric Vehicle Systems programme is to create a community of electric vehicle and support system developers in order to develop new technology, business and service competence. 

Fuel Cell 2007–2013
The priority areas the Fuel Cell programme are stationary and portable fuel cell applications and specialist vehicles with fuel cell power modules.

Functional Materials 2007–2013
Functional Materials programme aims to develop new applications for Finnish industrial sectors. The properties of functional materials are designed to serve a specific purpose in a controlled way for special or challenging environmental conditions.

Green Growth – Towards a Sustainable Future 2011–2015
The aim of the Green Growth programme is to support the generation of innovations enabling significant leaps in energy and material efficiency and to create foundation for the development of new value networks based on green growth.

Green Mining 2011–2016
The main objective of the Green Mining programme is to make Finland a global leader of sustainable mineral industry by 2020.

Groove – Growth from Renewables 2010–2014
The main objective of the Groove programme is to enhance the business capabilities of Finnish small and medium-sized companies working with renewable energy by improving their international competitiveness and developing networks with the financier network.

Innovations in Social and Healthcare Services 2008–2015
Based on its vision, the programme will renew health and social services and increase business opportunities through innovative activities.

Learning Solutions 2011–2015
The objective of the programme is to develop internationally important learning solutions in cooperation with participants in the sector, to develop new operating approaches, create new skills and develop products, services and comprehensive packages for international markets.

Pharma – Building Competitive Edge 2008–2011
Pharmaceutical development processes can be boosted by improving the links between research data, results from clinical work, and pharmaceutical R&D. The Pharma programme boosts the creation of newly-networked operations and help eliminate bottlenecks in the pharmaceutical industry.

Safety and Security 2007–2013
The programme will help enterprises and researchers develop international business activity and competence in safety and security technologies.

Sapuska – Added Value for International Food Markets 2008–2012
Tekes' Sapuska programme aims to improve the international competitiveness of the Finnish food industry.

Serve – Pioneers of Service Business 2006–2013
Serve programme targets to increase and broaden the services development of the Finnish industry and to promote academic research in service related areas.

Spaces and Places 2008–2012
The programme seeks answers to questions like: What kinds of premises yield the best results? What kind of environment would best promote learning or working? What would a shop that combined virtual, physical and social spaces and places be like?

Sustainable Community 2007–2012
Sustainable community programme aims to develop sustainable and energy efficient areas and buildings.

SymBio – Industrial Biotechnology 2006–2011
SymBio renews industrial processes and environmental conservation using biotechnology, and boosts the application of biotechnology across industry sectors.

Tourism and Leisure Services 2006–2012
The programme encourages R&D activities by companies producing leisure services. Development focuses on new service concepts, new ways of producing services and the creation of new spatial concepts, such as those utilising virtual technology.

Trial – Environment for Cognitive Radio and Networks 2011–2014 
The aim of the programme is to transform Finland into a globally attractive cluster of expertise and unique trial environment for cognitive radio and networks.

TULI 2008–2013
The Tuli programme helps researchers and research communities to evaluate the commercial potential of a research based inventions or ideas and aids in their commercialization. 

Ubicom – Embedded ICT 2007–2013
The term ubicom stands for embedded systems and processors designed to make everyday life easy by functioning inconspicuously in the background. In the programme, technologies are developed and piloted for selected applications. Development of business know-how is of special importance.

Water 2008–2012
The objective of the programme is to contribute to technology transfer, new applications development, business competence development and overall competitiveness of Finnish water sector in the international market.
