How to take part?
Organisations based and registered in Finland are eligible to receive financing through Tekes programmes. International companies that operate in Finland can also apply for funding.
For participants in Finland
Each programme organises targeted calls for universities and research institutes to apply for the programme. The public research calls generally take place once a year or in alternate years, but there is no fixed rule. Businesses can send in applications at any time.
Businesses can participate through their own projects or by taking part in joint research projects. Many programmes place special emphasis on participation by small businesses and promote cooperation with major companies and research institutes.
For international partners
Organisations based outside Finland can participate in Tekes programmes in many different ways. Most research and development projects funded through Tekes programmes involve international R&D cooperation.
Tekes can
- offer funding to the Finnish counterparts in joint projects
- finance researcher mobility to and from Finland
- facilitate the exchange of information
- network partners across borders
Tekes has signed cooperation agreements with international funding agencies all over the world with a view to exchanging information and placing joint calls for proposals or launching joint R&D programmes.
How to find the right partners for your needs?
Tekes programmes provide a gateway to the best research groups and innovative R&D companies in Finland. A list of the projects included in a programme is published on each programme’s website.
